How Throw an Amazing Last-Minute Oscar Party

How Throw an Amazing Last-Minute Oscar Party

The Academy Awards are only five days away, but you can still throw an awesome Oscar Party with barely any planning. C’mon, you know it’s more fun to critique the dresses and celebrate the big wins with friends.

Use these tips and no one will know you just decided to plan the party today!

Roll Out The Red Carpet

Literally. Get a red table runner or a roll of fabric and lay it in your entryway to create your own red carpet. It might seem silly but it’s a fun way to get guests smiling right away.

Strike a Pose

Make like the paparazzi and take tons of pictures of your guests’ grand entrances. Make sure guests download our FREE Share-Your-Photos App and use the event ID you created so everyone can access all of the fun images from throughout night.

Make a Showstopping Snack

Don’t worry about planning a full course meal. This popcorn bar from Brit & Co. is simple, yet looks like you put a lot of thought and effort into planning it. Just make a batch of popcorn and put out an assortment of different toppings for it. Guests can decide if they want to go savory (adding on parmesan cheese, basil, olive oil, etc) or sweet (by piling on the sprinkles, chocolate sauce or shredded coconut). If you’re really crunched for time, just put movie candy (think Twizzlers, gummy bears, Junior Mints and any other favorites) in pretty bowls around your living room.

Drink to That!

Since you’re keeping the snacks simple, a signature cocktail makes the event seem more festive. Try this fun Chardonnay Sparkler from Redbook.

Have Fun (and Games!)

Use a printable Oscar ballot so guests can cast their votes before the show starts or play Oscar bingo (and earn points every time someone does something on your Bingo card like “thanks their manager,” “pulls out a pre-written speech,” etc) to win a small prize.

Speaking of prizes, we’re giving away a $25 Amazon gift card to use toward planning your party. Enter for a chance to win!
