The Ultimate Evening Outdoor Birthday Party

The Ultimate Evening Outdoor Birthday Party

As the weather cools off, people are starting to spend more time outside. It can get so expensive when you rent out a space for a birthday party (especially when it’s at Chuck E. Cheese or Monkey Joes). Don’t get me wrong, kids LOVE the indoor birthday parties and all of the games that come with it… but they also like being outside! Having room to run, play and be messy is just what you need for a child’s birthday! This Fall, let’s change it up and throw some outdoor birthday parties! Here are some tips on throwing the ultimate outdoor birthday party at night!

Choose a Location

Typically, family is always invited to the birthday. Therefore, scout out your favorite family member’s backyard and ask if you can have your child’s birthday there! If you have a spacy backyard, then you’re already set. You can also rent out a pavilion at local parks in town. Most charge $25-$50 for the pavilion (some are even free) and come with the perk of being next to a playground. Either way, the price is minimal and the kids will still have a great time.

What to Eat

For outdoor parties, it’s okay to get messy. Think about letting the kids contribute to lunch/dinner. Even better, let’s make an activity out of it! Pizza is an easy meal that let’s the kids get creative and build it themselves! Go ahead and have dough balls ready for each child then place the toppings in bowls and spread them all over the table. Let each child build their own pizza and label them with popsicle sticks. It’s easy to fix and the kids will love it!

Games

One of my favorite nighttime games to play is glow-in-the-dark baseball. Here’s how it works. You need wiffle balls, glow sticks, a plastic bat and glow-in-the-dark paint. Stuff the glow sticks inside of the wiffle balls. Paint the plastic bat with glow in the dark paint. Paint bases on the grass in the backyard. This game is easy, cheap and something the kids will enjoy playing at night!

Party Favors

Another activity for the birthday party could be to let everybody decorate their own plastic bat. Amazon sells a set of 6 bats and 6 balls for $16. Let the kids paint their bats when they get there so that they have time to dry. Then towards the end of the party, provide some fun glow-in-the-dark paint pens and let everyone decorate their own bat! It’s a fun way to remember the birthday party and it lets them play glow-in-the-dark baseball at home!

Pictures

After throwing an awesome backyard party, you need a way to share the pictures with all of the other moms! Simply download the Share-Your-Photos App (it’s free), create an Album Name and share the Album Name with the other Moms! Then, start uploading your photos and videos from the party! Once the other moms download the app, they can see your pictures and videos and save them to their phone!
