Six Steps for Hosting a French-Themed Soiree

Six Steps for Hosting a French-Themed Soiree

Our first Big Fake Wedding event of 2017 is just one week away! If you haven’t heard of the Big Fake Wedding before it’s a bridal show alternative complete with a ceremony, food and a dance-party reception. “Wedding guests” are brides- and grooms-to-be who get to truly experience the wedding vendors in action and we’re its first-ever National App Event Sponsor!

The first event for 2017 will be held in Atlanta next Thursday, Jan. 26th, and the theme will be “Parisian Twilight.” A Paris-inspired event sounded so lovely, so we rounded up some fun ways to create that French connection at any party you may be planning.

Dress up the decor

Decorate with chandeliers, small Eiffel Tower ornaments, rose petals, and votive candles to create that French feel.

Pop the bubbly

Create a signature cocktail for the event and make sure Champagne is one of the key ingredients. Here are a 22 champagne cocktail ideas to get you inspired.

Pay homage to fromage

You can’t host a French-themed party without cheese. Let this key French import take center stage with a fondue station.

Bid adieu to the cake

Swap out traditional desserts for French macarons in an assortment of colors for an eye-popping and delicious way to end the evening.

Send guests out in style

We love this cute favor idea from the blog Hudson and Seine. Buy craft bags with a chalkboard label on both sides and use a gold marker to write “merci” on the front and “beaucoup” on the back. Stuff the bag with cute trinkets, fill it with black and white polka dotted tissue paper and tie with a pale pink ribbon.

Capture the joie de vivre

Make sure your guests download the Share Your Photos App and that they all have the event ID. You’ll want to remember the fun and capture guests looking tres chic!
