Whether you have a destination wedding or not, we have some beautiful ways to incorporate an airy, surf-inspired feel into classic components of your big day.
Centerpieces
Use large sea shells, pretty bowls of sand, coral, or rocks in lieu of flowers or as accents to them.
The Gown
For a beach-y feel, choose a wedding dress with a mermaid silhouette. Not only will it fit in with the theme, but because the mermaid style is tight over the torso, it gives the impression of a stunning hourglass figure.
Accessories
Use decorative sea shells, pearls, or jewelry that’s shaped like items from the ocean as embellishments or even put some in your hair. Some brides have walked down the aisle with bouquets of sea shells. Starfish can make really unique boutonnieres as well.
Placecards
For a coastal twist, write guests’ seat assignments on sea glass, shells or driftwood. You can also use these mini Adirondack chairs to give that day-at-the-beach feel!
The Cake
Give your cake a nautical feel with details like ropes, compasses, or chocolate sea shells. Here are tons of ideas from The Knot. We especially love this Sand Castle Cake from Carlo’s Bakery.
The Send Off
Give guests mini beach balls to toss your way instead of rice for a fun and fitting way to cap off the ceremony!
